Toddlers, Sippy cups at night, and an infant!?

I have a 2 1/2 yr old little girl and she is potty trained, and since she got off the bottle at 1yr old she has been going to sleep with her sippy.. Our step daughter (3 1/2yrs old) is coming to live with us and doesn’t do the sippy at night.. Im trying to get my 2 yr old off her sippy so our 3 yr old wont start and also i know for a fact our 2 yr old will stop peeing the bed at night if shes going to bed without her sippy, and hopefully sleep threw the night… should i try the substitute for a goodnight stuffed animal thing?…. and im also breastfeeding a 1 month old, how do i get her in training for sleeping threw the night and on a schedule…

we slowly lowered the water amount in the sippy cup, and everynight when he drank it down the rule was thats all he got, NO REFILLS,,, we started he had a fill cup… then over the course of 2 weeks we were down to just 2oz, then one day i distracted him and lauched right into the story with out his cup, (he was playing with a favorate small toy while i read laying on his back in bed) and we never gave him a sippy at night again

i was getting up to change his diaper at least 1 time if not 2 before we did this, his diapers would be so wet if i didnt he would leak onto the bed… since then i was able to let him go all night and no leaks, then a few weeks later he was waking up with a dry diaper and i could get him on the potty before he “wet” his diaper

so just the lack of liquids should help her stay dry(er)

also when my son knew there wasnt a sippy around he stoped waking for it

as for the year older child, if your 2 yearold isnt off by the time she comes just DONT let her start… tell her its for babys,,, she gets her drinks in a cup BEFORE she gets ready for bed.. not in the bed
