Guess what the baby won t sleep. Remember when you used to lay down, close your eyes, and just sleep, and then when Saturdays came around it meant you could sleep in? Wrong! How about those days when you were awoken by an an alarm clock and now you have a crying baby?
When a my won t baby sleep, no one sleeps! Babies can and will wake frequently during the night. Sometimes when babies are up all night, it can really start to wear down you down.
If your baby won t sleep all night, you’re probably beginning to feel pretty desperate. You want to know “Why won’t my baby sleep?” and, most importantly, What my baby wont sleep the night.
There are many reasons why a baby wont sleep.
Sometimes your baby goes down for a nap in the middle of the day and just won’t wake up. Other times she’s up all night and wants to play. The problem here may be that your baby has little or no light perception and cannot differentiate between day and night.
A Solution to baby won t sleep.
It’s important to teach your baby the difference from day to night. During the day, open up all window treatments, let the sun shine in. Let your baby see it is day light. Make it more “lively” during the day and active around the house.
You may want to try and let your baby have an area in the house to play that is in a bright area of the house too. Take your baby outside too. Fresh air is good and there are so many sounds too, that your baby will be overwhelmed too. This can help you with your baby sleep problems.
Go for walks, go to parks or the mall too. You may want to limit your babies nap time during the day too. If your baby is getting too much sleep during the day, he will be all “energized” during the night and restless. Nothing is worst then a 6 month old baby wont sleep.
Try waking the baby up during the nap when it is time to get up. If your baby still wont wake up or sometimes they wake up and then doze off again, try thumping or flicking the bottom of their “bare” foot real hard, it sounds cruel but it will startle them and awake them. My pediatrician told be this, I was afraid, but it actually worked!
When night time comes around you will want to establish a pretty strict night time routine so she will understand that the evening hours have begun. Besides following a simple schedule (dinner, bath, bedtime story, etc) make dinner time soothing too with meals that will be filling in your child’s stomach. I also found out that if I am bottle feeding, that sometimes my baby will get gassy and especially at night because lack of “movement during the day”, try switching your bottles too “dr brown” bottles and don’t shake up your mix of formula. The worst is when newborn baby wont sleep.
NEVER shake always stir with a knife or spoon. When you shake, you create gas bubbles and it will upset there stomachs. Also choose special night time songs, night time story books, and night time toys that only come out during the evening hours. Then, when you begin to sing one of these night time songs, for example, your baby will know that it’s getting late and almost time for bed. That seem to help with baby sleeping problems.
Another good practice is to point out is that at night the sounds around the house should be calmer and quieter. Try keeping the noise level down. Turn TV’s down, keep lights on in the house to a minimal too. All this can help with your baby wont sleep problem.
